The U.S. Army's 2nd Cavalry Regiment has a long history in Europe. Having fought in both World Wars, the Regiment now has a new mission in Poland as part of NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence. In WWII, the 2nd Cavalry Regiment helped to liberate Belgium, Czechoslovakia and France from the Nazis. Following the end of that war, the Regiment stayed on in Germany under a U.S. mission to defend the peace. Since 2006, their base has been at Rose Barracks located in Vilseck, Germany. It is at this site that a museum commemorates the Regiment’s 181 years of history. (Video courtesy NATO TV)
